    Please help with instalation


    im trying to install visual basic 6 on windows 7
    it wont work . i run as administrator no problem , i get this message ,
    (refer to picture) i have read that its not compatible but then i read some people have done it please if you no how , can you please tell me step by step pleasee thanks amanda

    I have heard horror stories. FIrst try installing it in compatibility mode.
    (right click the installer>properties>compatibility>Chose older OS

    The in your computer supports virtual XP mode that is a workaround

    These two threads should help.

    Install VB6 on Windows 7

    VB6 on Windows 7 64-bit

    (In the 2nd link, look at the response from Rothstein)

    Make sure you go through the comments on both pages.

    ok to reply to both posts i have done both as stated ,
    i got to task manager and it says in the (middle) of installing the programmer..
    PROGRAME NOT RESPONDING... so there must be a way of doing some how

    and mine is 32 bit and i have no discs :) its a clean downlaod i have serial and i can get as far as its going to run but then it says what i have written already

    Well, if it doesnt work you need to either use XP mode or switch to a newer product like Visual studio 2008 or visual studio 2010 etc.
