Error Number 5 while registering dll

I am having trouble while installing a program called "M1" which is a production/manufacturing software package. This software works fine on XP but am having trouble getting it to make friends with Win7 Pro. It gives me the following error:

Error number 5 occurred while registering
    c:\users\jason\m1\TOOLS\Crystal\WinNT\atl.dll

So I register the dll by going to:
    Start
    regsvr32 c:\users\jason\m1\TOOLS\Crystal\WinNT\atl.dll
and it gives me a registered successfully message.
It then tries to run the program and puts me in a loop, telling me that Error number 5 has occurred.

    Ideas???

It then gives me a missing file error.
I have attached a copy of the error.

When i try to register the msado.dll it gives me this message. It appears that the file cannot be found but I verified that it is there.

the dll is for jvm, which is no longer being used. you could run this program on win 7 with a virtual pc running xp.

    Lemur,

I checked out the URL for the msado15.dll and just did what it said... i did a regedit and searched for all instances of the "commonprogramfiles" string and replaced it with the correct string. It let me do it in all places except 2. I tried to run the program and now it doesn't bark at me about the msado15.dll anymore but is now stuck in a loop of wanting to upgrade the client software.

Just had a thought. Error #5 refers to privilege levels, specifically trying to execute a command in an account with standard as opposed to administrative privileges (or an elevated account). Did you install the program with administrative privileges? You may also need to run it with administrative privileges as well.

Do you have a download source for this program?

I can try running it on a machine running virtual XP. I haven't tried that yet but is a great idea. No go on the compatibility mode.
