Creative Audigy Not Compatable with 7

I just got done with an online chat session with Dell troubleshooting my Creative Audigy and he told me that Audigy isn't compatable with windows 7. Anyone know anything about this??

He is right in that Creative hasn't released a driver (beta or otherwise) for the Audigy series yet, that isn't to say that there isn't a working driver for them. If you haven't seen this yet,

SB Audigy Series Support Pack 2.0 (04/17/2009) - Sound Blaster - Creative Labs

might want to give it a try.

I tried to run the application and it came up with an error message:

Can anybody help me out with this? Do i need to uninstall the creative software and try this new software?

Yes. Also if you have Winrar installed use it to extract the download and look in the Drivers folder and there should be a setup.exe there. If there is run it and select to uninstall the drivers and all shared components, restart and then try installing the downloaded package again.

Something else to try. Open Device Manager and locate the card, it may be listed as "multimedia device". Once located right click on it and select "update driver", then click on "browse my computer", then click on Browse and navigate to the folder you extracted and in the same Driver folder in the wdm folder locate "wdma_emu.inf". Then see if the driver will at least install.

If that works then try installing the package again. I had to do the above with my X-Fi at one point as I was getting the same "device not found" error you are, but once I installed just the driver manually it would let me install the rest of the apps from the download.
