    HP Toolbox not fully functional?

I just recently got an HP CP1215 laser printer and installed the software, only to find that some of it doesn't work!

I went into the HP toolbox and found this:

    -Known printers
--HP Color LaserJet CP1215 (USB 002)
    ---Status
    ----Device Status
    ----Supplies Status
    ----Device Configuration
    ----Print Info Pages
    ----Event Log
    ---Help
    ----Troubleshooting
    ----Animated Demonstrations
    ----User Guide
    ---Device Settings
    ----Paper Handling
    ----Print Quality
    ----Print Density
    ----Print Modes
    ----Paper Types
    ----System Setup
    ----Setup Status Alerts
    ----Service
    ----Save/Restore Settings

Everything under "Status" makes the "HP CP1215" folder close and the Toolbox does not display anything. Everything from "Paper Handling" to "System Setup" also makes the folder close.

I am not sure why this is happening, and I want to be able to use some of those settings!

I have tried using HP's email support, but all their pages continuously redirect to nowhere.

Did you read the manual before attempting to install it?

Have you followed the online guidance re the Toolbox?

If indeed this is a new HP Laser Printer that is not working I would suggest you return it to the retailer concerned with the necessary proof of ownership
    as soon as possible.
Let us know how you go.

NO, you misunderstood. The software is not working properly. The printer is fine.

There is this software called "HP Toolbox" and I am trying to figure out why I cannot get it to work to its full extent. I can print whenever I want. That's not the issue here.

I have two HP Laser printers here so yes I am familiar with both the printer & HP's toolbox. [ & HP's lack of support when it's needed.]

The questions that I asked were to try to establish your level of expertise.

You may have had a corrupted download/installation of the software. Why don't you try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it. If that doesn't work, see if there are any programs or apps within your system that could be interfering with the use of this software (i.e. other printing/scanning/copying software, Windows Defender, other firewall app, anti-virus app, anti-spyware app, etc.). Since your HP product is relatively new, it should still be under warranty. Why not call HP tech support and talk to them to see what they suggest. (A telephone call is much superior to an attempted fix by email!) As a last resort, if the problem is that the software CD is damaged, why not take it back and exchange it?

PS If you do decide to uninstall it and re-install the software, before you re-install it, do a manual search through your system to make sure all remnants of the app were deleted.

No one said it was new. And it's not. I cannot afford to buy laser printers new for several hundred dollars. I will see if there is other printing software I can remove though.

Your four words above in the original post led to the assumption that the printer was "newish."

Unless you are clearer in your post we read between the lines....

    In future be consistent!

Well, you were right. I uninstalled my old printer software and the Toolbox works fine now! Thanks.
