Windows 7: Cannot Open Unless Administator. . . But I AM the Administrator!

Cannot Open Unless Administator. . . But I AM the Administrator!

I have just installed Adobe InDesign CS2 and Corel Graphics Suite X3 on my new Windows 7 64-Pro system. They seem to install just fine. However, when I go to open the programs, I get the notifications saying:

You are not allowed to continue because your account does not have the proper privileges. Please log in using an account with administrator privileges and try again.

The problem is that I am the administrator with full administrator privileges checked off (unless there is some secret thing I don't know about, which could be very likely since I am new to Windows 7).

Does anyone have any answers to this?

Running a user account with admin privileges, for some reason that I don't fully understand, it is not the same as being administrator. Either go to the Properties of the shortcut, select the compatibility tab and select run as administrator or enable the built in administrator account and log into it.

seekermeister, you are THE MAN. I changed the properties of the exe file. One more question. . . Now when it opens a warning comes up asking if it is okay for the program to change some of the system settings. I hit okay on Adobe Illustrator and then Windows 7 says that the Windows 7 colour profile was changed. When I closed the program, the screen flickered, which I assume was Windows 7 resuming the standard colour profile. My question is, any knowledge on whether a program like this can screw up Windows 7 OS at all? I'm assuming not.

Not being familiar with the program, I can not say with certainty whether is is okay or not for the program to change system settings, but if all that it does is to change the profile and it returns to normal afterward, I wouldn't be too concerned. A lot of programs will do that.
