    Antivirus

Arghh. I've been using Symantec Antivirus x64 on my Vista drive, and whenever I try to install it on W7, it says that the installation was interrupted and that my system was not modified. It gets a while into the installation before a problem. It extracts all the files then gets through a loading bar of some other stuff, then it starts to list file names of some .zips and it crashes from there. This is my only antivirus software, and I don't like not having any. Does anyone know how I might get this thing to install? Or know of other effective antivirus software that won't cost me? Thanks

This is what im using, and its great, goes easy on resources, and does the job : Avira AntiVir Personal - FREE Antivirus

I was an AVG user, until i somehow had a random assortment of rootkits and such.
    anyways, hope this helps.

Hey as long as it does the job, I don't really care. I've never really had a problem before. Some trojans here and there from torrenting but they always get picked up. I'll check that program out. Thanks!

Yeah, and its scans dont take that long either, and dont chomp on your resources, which i find great, unlike some other AV's....

I like Avast! I use the Pro version but I recommend Avast! Home all the time.

    Code:

You could try installing it in compatibility mode ( right click > properties > compatibility tab) or try one of these Windows 7 RC NIS/Norton 360 compatible builds available
