    iTunes won't run ?

Hey guys, I've looked around this site to see if I could find anything to help me with this, but nothing has worked. :/

I've downloaded iTunes, but it won't even setup and install all the way, sometimes, if it even wants to install at all.

    I got it to install ONCE, but every time I clicked on the icon to run it, it wouldn't do anything. I've uninstalled iTunes & quick time, ran Revo Uninstaller (Which keeps freezing on me, much like a lot of things on Windows 7 for me.), and did all I could find to help solve this problem, but nothing has worked. I just really, really want my iTunes. ;-;

    I'm running on Windows 7 Ultimate build 7600, 32-bit.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

EDIT: I finally got it to install, but it's still refusing to start up. :/

You can try the steps I posted here. Remember to reboot after if you can get rid of all the itunes/quicktime entries with Revo.

Just try running Revo Uninstaller in Vista compatibly mode. you can right click the revo setup and go to properties - compatibility - pick Vista - apply/ok, then run the setup. You can do the same for after it installed, just right click the revo icon, do the same thing.

In fact, try that with itunes itself too.

I've tried running iTunes in several compatability modes, but none of them seem to work at all. But itunes.helper is coming up in my Processes. :/

I'm running Revo now, in Vista compat mode. Do I just need to uninstall itunes, & quicktime? Or the Bonjour one too?

EDIT: It's currently stuck on "Creating System Restore Point."
It seems like ever since I installed Windows 7, it's been giving me problems with different things, although it is quite pretty to look at.

If you can, I'd uninstall itunes/quicktime, and whatever other entries it shows you in Advanced mode with Revo related to them. Bonjour/apple update/,etc. Then reboot. Then download itunes, unblock it/run setup in Vista mode.

If you're having that many problems with sorted things in 7, you might consider reinstalling Clean. Or at least attempt a Repair Install.

It sounds as if you might have more things going on than just Itunes/Revo, but it's just a guess by me. (That being said, I can download and install any or all of those programs without problems.)

What I would do, would be to run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker, to see if it can repair any system file damage you might have. If that doesn't help, or find anything, then try a Repair Install.

I'm running the scan right now. I just uninstalled itunes/quicktime/bonjour. Hopefully this will do the trick, iTunes has been giving me alot of trouble since I tried to install it on 7. :/ I've tried running it on EVERY compatability mode, & as an admin.

Well, I would still consider what I've said in the above post.

Thanks for posting, as we understand your issue that ITunes fails, then does install but fails to run.
We are not clear as to the version you are trying to install? I suggest that you may be trying to install ver. 9?
Since you attempted to install a version of ITunes and the first attempt was unsuccessful you will need to remove/uninstall all ITunes programs, either use windows uninstaller for clean removal or what ever program you favour.
    Remove the following:
    • ITunes
    • Quicktime
    • Bonjour
    • ITunes updater
    • ITune Installer
    • Apple Mobile Device support
    Reboot you system.
Download the latest version of ITunes, in this case it is ver. 9
    Close all apps
Locate the installer app on your sysem, hilite the installer app and right click your mouse and on the drop down menu hilite run as administrator and run the installer. Some nomenclature on version 9, it does support Windows 7 both in x86 and x64 bit machines.

report back if you choose and let us know the outcome.
