think about it - new UI elements means new skinning techniques. so naturally, neither the XP nor the Vista version will work on Windows 7...

the windows 7 version is in very early beta stage right now. it doesn't even support transparency yet. you'll probably have to wait until well after RTM to get a good, working version.

I tried "Dell Dock" and "My Colors" (Dell version from Stardock).

    Neither work.

At this point I would not put a lot of trust in any GUI applications not written specifically for Windows 7, MS changed too much.

I was able to get Daves Quick Search to work, but installation requires hoop jumping.

I also was able to get Iconoid's "hide icons" feature to work but other features do not.

But in general I will just wait for the heavy GUI apps catch up to Win7.

Hi and welcome. Windowblinds is "vista ready" so will probably not be a problem. Just make sure to do a backup before (in case)

    Hope I have helped

erm I should think that WB wont be compatible with windows 7 because of the new GUI. And in this case saying its Vista ready is no guarantee of compatibility.

I bow to swarfega while Im installing WB to see if it blows up

I can only say the "free" edition works (perhaps not perfectly) with win 7. The version I downloaded is crippled so I cant do many of the changes I would like to do so...

I definately used it. The version is the free (read crippled) version so I couldnt apply skin changed and several other things I would like to have but it works. Still I un-installed it when through .
