    Nothing Installs on Windows 7

I recently got a new laptop running Windows 7 and I've been trying to download and install a few things. The programs/software downloads fine, but when I run the installation wizard, after a few moments, I either get an error message saying the installer doesn't have access to the folder or it doesn't exist, or the installer just dissapears. I've even tried taking control over the program folders. These programs would download on Vista, so I don't know what's wrong. I am the full administrator and the sofftware I'm downloading IS made for Windows 7 64-Bit.
e.g. HP Deskjet F340 Full Driver
    Adobe Reader

Boot in safe mode with networking and try to re-install the programs

uhh first off he shouldnt have to install anything in safemode, 2ND the driver for the printer will not show up anywhere eccept show in his device manager that the printer is there...as for adobe he shouldn't be having trouble with that either, so he might be installing it to the wrong place or not downloading the correct version...are you sure your installing it to the C:/program files?

Hello. Thank you for all of your responses. I've already tried a clean boot and I just tried installing in safe mode. I am quite adept with using a computer and guarantee it is not a problem on my part. Also, everything being downloaded is legitamite. I have no malware, viruses or any major prblem with the computer. This is my first time using Windows 7 and I think the problem is with Windows, vious OS.as everything worked on pre
