    Replacement for Revo Uninstaller on 64-bit Windows??

    From what I can find out, the traditional free version of Revo Uninstaller has limited functionality on 64-bit Windows.

    So I am looking for a replacement. Revo Pro is supposedly 64-bit compatible, but it is $40.

    I am aware of these 2 free alternatives, but I have not tried them:

    Myuninstaller

    MyUninstaller: Alternative uninstaller to the standard Windows Add / Remove module

    Uninstall manager

    Uninstall Manager

    Any comments on these 2 applications or any other Revo replacements?

    This works well for some people I know;

    Windows Software Uninstaller, Windows Registry Clean up, Restore Windows Applications - Comodo Programs Manager

    <http://programs-manager.comodo.com/>

    I have not done any extensive trials with it myself.

    Thanks Mike.

    It was your comment in another thread that free Revo was incompatible with 64-bit that started me hunting.

    Problem is, I have 32-bit now and so can't easily test the 64-bit compatible replacements. But I will likely be moving to 64-bit within weeks, thus my interest.

    I have used Revo Uninstaller (version 1.91) on my Windows 7 x64bit system...

    If it's any help, I have not encountered any problems. :)

    Irene:

    Yes, it "works".

    But do a Google search. By all accounts it does an incomplete job on 64-bit programs.

    Whether it is outright damaging, I don't know.

    The free REVO runs alright on 64 BIT systems but it doesn't work on 64 BIT programs.

    I have used the Comodo program a few times on various machines, and have had no problems, it also seems to reliably remove all the relevant registry entries etc. I have not used it enough to recommend it outright.

    Thanks for the info, ignatzatsonic and Mike, I will certainly check that out. :)

    By the way, I have also tried the other programs you mentioned in the original post. Didn't like either of them. There is no point in using a program that simply duplicates the built-in windows functionality;

    Much the same applies to the other program you mention, it adds some ( in my opinion superfluous) functionality to the standard windows functionality.

    The Comodo is the only other one I have found which works more or less like the REVO uninstaller, it removes the registry entries and associated files.

    I can only tell you how reliable it is after using it for at least three months, and preferably longer. It's looking good up to now though.

    Thanks for the comments. I have downloaded Comodo and will likely try it now on 32-bit.

    I'm also always put off by and suspicious of English language technical documentation that was clearly not proofread by a native English speaker. If they are that indifferent/careless, what else is in store for a potential user? Do they just write this stuff in their native language and then toss it into Google's translator and expect accuracy?

    I have just emailed Revo Support and asked them to confirm whether the Free version completely removes 64-bit programs effectively.

    I will post back when I receive their response. :)
