    Can anybody recomend a Microsoft Word Alternative?


    I can't really afford Microsoft word, even the student addition

    I am not happy with Open Office because it is very slow to open. (http://www.openoffice.org)

    Can anyone recommend free software that I could use?

    The best alternative (at least free) is the Open Office.

    I have Office 2003 Professional and the latest Open Office. The Open Office programs open faster than MS Office on my Win 7 64 bit system.

    Open office is much faster than MS Office. I suggest you to use it. :)

    Writer isn't bad, and it's free. I just wish it was friendly with speach.

Microsoft Word

I have Office XP Pro. I can bring up a Word Doc but when I save them they get saved in Wordpad. I can't change them. This is what I've done. Went to a Save Word Document Put my mouse pointer over the Document Right click the mouse Click on Properties Click on Change Word is not there Go...
