Media Player title display
When a CD is ripped the result is a set of files and each has a Filename, Number and Title. The Title may or may not be the same as the Filename (extracted online during the rip). The Number is the track number.
I'm an opera nut and I can rip an entire opera into one folder containing, for example, 45 files (Tracks from the CDs). I can rename the files with a disk and track number, which is the usual way to access a track on a standard audio CD player.
If I click the containing folder Media Player starts but only displays the Titles in the Playlist. I want to show the (modified) filenames but the Media Player in Windows 7 seems to have no way of changing the column heading.
Playing a track from the Explorer file window just plays that track and stops, whereas I want to start from a selected track and then continue, which is what starting from a Playlist does.
I've tried other players. VLA is like Media Player, Winamp is OK but very small display, iTunes player baffles me - I can't find out how to open a folder, QuickTime doesn't seem to recognise .wma or flac files.
Does anyone know of a solution to this please? I feel totally baffled by an apparently simple requiement.
Many thanks for any help
