Can I safely install Net 1.1 2.0 and 3.5 for game editor?

I want to install and use a game editor to mess around with Madden 08, here is what one power user at footballfreaks says I must do. I just want to know if it is safe to install all three.

    Actually there is one problem.

.NET 1.1 is not compatible with Windows 7

    And .NET 2.0:

For Windows 7, .NET Framework 3.5 with SP1 is shipped with it as one of OS component. For .NET Framework 3.5 with SP1, it includes .NET 2.0 with SP2 and .NET 3.0 with SP2 as prerequisite.

This means, you have the .NET Framework 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 plus a few post 3.5 SP1 bug fixes on Windows 7. They are OS components. .NET 3.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 can be added or removed via the Programs and Features control panel.
This means that with the latest updates for .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 you're more than done. because that'll include all the previous ones :)

Here: (i added .NET Framework 4)

Download details: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
Download details: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1
Download details: Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Web Installer)

    Cheers

OK let's see, starbreaker. Glad to meet with you, again.

Microsoft C++ has nothing to do with .NET Framework... you need to install all of the posted above you already have the .NET Framework 4 Client Profile but you don't have the .NET Framework 4, so you'll need to install all three.

I guess it has to be the fact that windows 7 comes with .NET 3.5 installed by default.

And if the .NET Framework 4 installed beautifully then i guess you're done nothing left to install, check Windows Update to see if there's any update available for those components and that's it

    .NET 3.5.1 is a Feature of Windows 7 (Includes 2.0 thru 3.5.1).
Go to Control Panel - Programs and Features and on the left click on "Turn Windows features on or off" and you will get this screen.

If the block is shaded as the pics shows then .NET 2.0-3.5.1 is installed.

You do NOT download them, they are included in Windows 7 and are activated or deactivated as a feature.
