I had a similar problem. In the Microphone properties, I think and can't boot to 7 right now to check since the PSU in that rig failed, you can uncheck a box that allows programs exclusive control over the hardware. This did it for me...

Hello I have friends with this issue as well can you please explain how you fixed it so everyone on the world wide web will find this? lol Saying that you fixed the issue & not telling people how you did it is kind of lame lol.

I found a few fixes for this if anyone surfing the web is looking lol.

  1. Set Ventrilo to “Run as administrator”
  2. Set Ventrilo to emulate Windows XP SP2.
  3. Set your game, EQ2, to “Ignore Windows Hotkey”

There's still a problem with Ventrilo
The audiodg.exe is still leaking memory from Ventrilo 2.1.4. This has been reported muuuuuuultiple times and it's getting quite frustrating actually. Also, why am I not entitled to my support at Microsoft's website? Apparently, my "Product ID" has expired. I've had Windows 7 Home Premium for 4...
