Does anyone know how to create a folder shortcut in File Manager. I want to reference a folder deep in the tree structure under a 'pointer' folder (of the same name) under the root of C:

Hello Jermey,

You should be able to right click on the folder, then click on Send To and Desktop (create shortcut). Afterwards, you can move that shortcut to where you like for easy use.

Its kind of like a super control panel, heh. Its pretty much a complete list of shortcut commands and works in both Win7 and Win8. UnRAR this files, put them into a folder then pin the folder to the taskbar or just open the folder in Explorer. I also pin the most used commands to the start menu.
