Does Kaspersky report anything while you are trying to install Winrar?

If not then I guess you could uninstall Kaspersky, Install WinRar, re-install Kaspersky.

Doesn't seem like a proper solution but might confirm that it is Kaspersky causing the problem. I personally had some probs running Kaspersky under 7 but nothing like that.

Are you committed to Kaspersky: maybe Microsoft Security Essentials would do the trick for you.

Kaspersky is a "prototype" (read early beta) so maybe problems are part of the deal!

Just use 7zip....it supports .rar and a bundle of others, integrates right into the windows shell so you can right click and extract, and also has worked under win7 since build 7000. Just download to the desktop and right click-> run as administrator! To avoid any conflicts

    Nice registration there zigzag3143!
But I can also confirm that winrar beta runs fine in 7 RC (7200).
If I remember rightly it wouldn't run under some of the beta builds (of 7)

So MEDOHEKAL I presume you are satisfied this is NOT a Kaspersky issue?
Only thing I can suggest is that your WinRar install exe is corrupt/broken. Get it again or Zidanes recommendation for 7zip is a good one too!
