Windows Animated Logo Not Appearing on Boot Up

Hi, have done a few internet searches on this one, but the things to try that i have come across have not worked in reinstating the nice animated windows logo on start up of windows 7. I appear to have lost it after doing a windows system restore and am now left with the very dull green progress bar which is low res and boring!!

As i say i have tried the bcdedit and bcdboot commands that are listed on many sites as resolving this issue. Any input appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Do you have "No GUI boot" box checked? If yes, uncheck it.

Hi, thanks for the advice, have seen that listed on a site somewhere too, so did check for that in msconfig, but to no avail, the check box remains unchecked.

    Cheers

Have you tried this command in an elevated command prompt?
    It has never failed me.
Right click the command prompt icon and select "Run as Administrator"
    Then type

    bcdedit /set {current} locale en-US

Hi all, have tried that particular command and it is one of the options that keeps appearing on several google searches.

I can say that this problem has resolved in a very strange way, treated myself to a new LED HD 40" display and on first boot when connected to the new display, hey presto, there is the animated logo, strange indeed.

Thanks all, no real reason or answer as to why that has happened but there you go.

I don't know what you old monitor was but a certain level of screen resolution is required for the Windows 7 animated logo to appear.

The boot screen requires a higher resolution to achieve,
if there is just a low resolution is supported, then the nice animated screen might not appear.

Another funny thing to know that,
Hong Kong version of Windows 7 without SP1,
will appear Vista green loading bar in normal,
Microsoft just make this change in SP1.This might applies to other version of Windows 7

My old monitor was a 40inch LCD cabable of 1080I.

i think that is high enough resolution, i dunno.

May have been something to do with AMD driver which also got updated abou the same time.

All restored anyway and looking good on my LED screen.

1024*768 is the minimum required resolution.

Interesting factoid though: If your monitor supports 1024*768 or above, but the driver you are using (for whatever reason) doesn't, or Windows defaults to the bog standard VGA 800*600 then the animation will still play at 1024*768 and then revert to the "Windows resolution" afterwards.

Well I thought it was interesting anyway
