New Version of Ad-Aware – Coming Soon!

As our select group of registered beta testers know, in preparation of the next major Ad-Aware release on August 25, 2009, closed beta testing for the new version is now underway. We’re looking forward to working with our seasoned group of testers to help us fine-tune this new version and make sure it’s everything that you need and want it to be.

What changes will the rest of you see in this upcoming version of Ad-Aware? The new version puts the power of privacy protection into the hands of you, our 400 million + users around the world, like never before. Improvements to our anti-malware technology bring you a power-packed product that will provide the best security protection available, without draining or straining system resources. We’ve also worked to include additional usability features that allow you to use Ad-Aware as you choose – whether you want to simplify your security without laboring over many settings and options, or you prefer to have detailed information on the possible threats on your PC and to be in full control of how to deal with them. In addition to that, we have new community-driven translations and skins in the works, and the opportunity for more community interaction through MyLavasoft (also coming in August) – it’s truly a “by the people – for the people” type of initiative.

In keeping with Lavasoft’s vision that every computer user, regardless of economic status or geographic location, has the power to control their individual privacy and security on the Internet, we’re proud to bring you another important change with this new version: Ad-Aware Free will offer complete malware protection that combines Lavasoft’s pioneer technology for anti-spyware with traditional anti-virus protection.

As you know, here at Lavasoft, we’re gearing up for the release of the new and improved version of Ad-Aware. While our original public launch date of August 25 has been slightly delayed, we’re still pushing to deliver the all-new version – with its advanced anti-malware technology, easy-to-use features, and new community-based initiatives – to you as soon as possible.

What’s the cause for the delay? We’ve integrated new anti-virus technology with our trusted anti-spyware protection; while implementing the anti-virus detection, we identified an area of concern that we feel does not deliver the level of convenience and experience that you require from Lavasoft’s security software. In order to address this and make sure that the new Ad-Aware is everything that you need and want it to be, the launch will be a few weeks later than we previously posted. And, that’s not the only launch news that we have for you today…The release of Ad-Aware Game Edition, an Ad-Aware spin-off designed for online gamers and entertainment fans, will follow three weeks after the Ad-Aware anti-virus + anti-spyware release.
