Windows 7: 64 bit- lack of compatible programs??

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 (clean install 8/05/2015)
32 & 64 bit mix...

Windows 7 x86 creates a single Program Files directory while 7 x64 creates two directories Program Files and Program Files (x86) which it places either native 64 bit programs or 32 bit programs in... I have had no problems with 32 bit programs running under x64. Here is a list of my programs installed...

I can agree with this... I tried to add a folder to vlc, either from the main program window or the playlist. It froze, then hitting the X caused it to flash wildly with the close program-not responding window. You'd think after about 15 years with this OS theyd figure out how to avoid that by now.

Anyway, too late, I deleted it and extended my hard drive to its full size... I just don't think there's enough new or "better" to warrant the upgrade, even to 32 bit.
