Problem setting up SKYPE in 64-bit Win 7
When I installed 64bit Win 7 on my main comp, IE 32bit would not find the Net, but IE64bit did. No 32bit browser will work, nor any other 64 bit browser. I have been using Skype on my 32bit laptop, but wanted to set it up on my 64bit comp. Skype does this stupid download, where it downloads an exe file, then tries to find the skype server for the big download, and you guessed it, keeps loading up IE32bit and stalls.
My 64bit IE is the only browser that works on my 64bit OS. Any ideas on a workaround? I'm guessing that Skype installs into Windows etc. as the download happens, so a copy of the software from 32bit machine won't install properly.
The new IE9 32bit now won't install. Says 'Wrong version of Internet Explorer installer This version of setup doesn't support your Windows system type (32-bit/64-bit).'
Has anyone else had this message when installing a 32bit program on a 64bit Operating System? Enyone else installed 64bit OS and IE not worked.
Hasn't been a problem untill now (not counting Flash prob), but now want Skype to work.
