Launcher for games
I'm a pretty heavy gamer, and I'm a fan of using a very organized and minimalist computer. I used to use Steam to launch games, but some games don't work with it. I then tried using the Game explorer, with it set in the Start Menu to pop out when I hover over it. This was messy and didn't work with Steam games. (Even with a nice application called Steam Assistance, several games weren't recognized and wouldn't launch.) So I'd like to just use a bunch of aliases in folders. Putting them in the start menu requires either too many clicks or too much scrolling, depending on how I organize. So I'd like a launcher, but I'm overwhelmed by options.
Right now I have a folder in the start menu called Games. Inside that -
- Consoles
- Puzzles
- Sandbox
- Shooters
- Strategy
- Vehicular
I would like each of those subfolders to be displayed on the right side of the screen, allowing me to select a folder, have it open, potentially open a subfolder (Such as adding Tower Defense to Strategy or Space to Vehicular) and then select a game to launch. Right click options such as Vista's Game explorer used to allow me to create easily (PITA in Seven) would be AMAZINGLY appreciated, but not a requirement.
Parabolic zoom or whatever other animations are an annoyance, I would want to be able to turn them off in favor of something more subtle. I do NOT want it to be a dock, the difference that a dock keeps track of running applications as well as shortcuts. All I've been able to find thus far are things like RocketDock, and that's not what I'm after.
tl;dr:
I would like a launcher that does the following: *Asterisks indicate optional*
- Does NOT keep track of running applications
- Allows for browsing (*sub*)folders on the launcher without opening a file manager
- No or subtle animations
- *Multiple options on right click, such as launch mods*
