    Uninstallers

Wondering if anyone has tried some of these uninstallers:

Absolute Uninstaller, Revo Uninstaller, Smarty Uninstaller 2008 Pro, Total Uninstaller, Final Uninstaller, Zards Cleanse Uninstaller.

I have tried Perfect Uninstaller and Your Uninstaller 2008 and neither one works.

    Thanks much

tried revo uninstaller, but so far did not get any real benefit of it, it seems to mostly do what windows does anyway... it does claim that it can check the registery and cleanup application left-overs but so far it didn't do what it claimed to do. I tried with my friends laptop who had an application installed, it was a game and it was not in the Add/remove programs. according to the product instructions, you can drag and drop the shortcut to revo then it will detect if it's installed or not, but it didn't detect it. so I just had to delete the whole directory, could not delete the registery stuff though.

I use Revo. Agree - partially - with akramh. Where it detects the installer the uninstall routine is terrific and Revo's search in the Registry and for Folder and Shortcut remnants seems effective - much the same as what I'm used to in XP. Obviously it's hard to know coz I don't follow up with a manual check of the registry (which would rather defeat the purpose of the software!).
Where I agree is that where the built in uninstall is NOT to be found - it's useless.

    I'd still recommend it.

Revo is great, as long as you run it on the highest setting. i've had it find thousands of stray registry entries after an app's uninstaller finished running.

total uninstall is a good one too, it lets you monitor installs so it's sure to get every last bit cleaned up. but it's not free...
