I tend to use Auslogics Disk Defrag > Disk Defrag - Fast and Safe Defragmenter for Your Disks

Also Piriform (makers of CCleaner) have their own defrag tool >> Defraggler - File and Disk Defragmentation - Free Download

Both work fine without any problems on x64 systems but I cannot say offhand if they are x64 native or if they are running under WOW.

I have been using PerfectDisk11 on my XP computer, so when I bought a new computer with WIN7x64 last week I just downloaded the 64bit PerfectDisk and entered my key.

The one integrated into Windows 7 isn't bad, sure it doesn't have all the visual bells and whistles but it gets the job done.

    My two cents

Puran is simple to use and also supports 64 bit Windows:

    Puran Software - Quality First

I use it on Vista64 all the time.
Oh and it's free for home use.

For paid, I'd suggest Diskeeper Pro. Has a great feature set and performance.

Until someone can clealy demonstrate the need for a third-party defragger, there's little to no reason to use one. Just use what your system came with already. It's free, already installed, and does the job.
