Application Hang around every 10 days

Hi,

I have a application that is used for real time monitoring of alarm signals. It is opened and running 24x7 on a windows 7 machine. However, the application seems to hang every 10 days or so,as shown in Task Manager not responding.

I have asked the vendor many times that his application hang, they keep saying it is my Windows 7 configuration and not their application. However all other applications works fine when the application is not responding.

I have uploaded the dmp file from the task manager and here's the link.

https://***************/files/1637961267/patriottmv5.rar

I do hope someone from the forum can help me find out why the application hang and also provide me some proof I can send to the vendor.

Thanks in advance

Sorry but after three attempts to wait and download the DMP it is corrupt with no useable data.

It is huge please adjust as per the following

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

Hi Zigzag,

I am not encountering a BSOD, there is no minidump for my problem. I am running a application which only the application hangs around every 10 days.

I am following the guide posted in the forum to generate the dmp file. The link to the guide below.

Generating a memory dump for a hung process

I have downloaded and verified the rar file is ok. The dmp is the same as the one extracted from the guide.

Understood. and that is the correct procedure for generating a DMP for a hung process.

I downloaded the huge DMP and it was corrupt. tried it 3 times with the 5 min wait on each

Hi,

I have uploaded a smaller dump file

https://***************/files/2572362...iotSmaller.zip

Based on some guide I googled to reduce the size of the dump.

I also run windbg !analyze -v on the dump file

We still need the dmp file and if this one is smaller you can upload it here. I find zero references to patriottmv5.exe, even in google. A game perhaps?

since there are no references to it I would strongly suggest downloading malwarebytes and running it in safe mode just in case it is malware.

Hi,

I have attached the smaller dmp file. I have also put the original dmp on my server http://58.185.22.50/patriottmv5.zip

patriottmv5.exe is not a game/malware. It is a software developed by Patriot Systems http://www.patriotsystems.com/ for monitoring alarm signals. It is a business application.

Thanks.
