    That worked but response was "Findstr cannot open CBS.log"
    Go back to your cmd window ( make sure it is elevated.... Run As Admin ).
    At the flashing prompt, copy/paste this command line .....

    findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt

    > press Enter > exit cmd.

    Your sfcdetails.txt is now on your desktop.
    Reference : SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
    Go to Option Three.

    You can now post it here by uploading it. If you don't know how to upload, use this tutorial....

    @karlsnooks
    log produced with 4923kb contents, but Notepad denies access.

    @t-4-2 sfc details text file produced but it is empty.

    @ all also at sart of these exercises I am now advised "Dell Datasafe Online is not working".

    I'm getting to feel that dealing with each problem as it comes won't be enough. May be I need return systeme to factory state. Would you agree? Could it be even worse; like a HDD problem?
