    Downloading torrents with Windows 7

Hi since I've been using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 I've noticed that when i try to download torrents they are really really slow, whether i use BitComet,uTorrent or Vuze? I've checked firewall settings and everything appears to be fine, any suggestions? Thanks

p.s Any news on when flashplayer will be available for 64bit browser?

Hi Jaffa1978, welcome to the forums.

I'm going to assume that you are using torrent for purely legal reasons

What setting (bandwidth) are you using for µtorrent?

    I would recommend the following

       Tip
If experiencing slow download speeds try reducing your upload speed

This will allow for a much larger connection set meaning that you should get a much better d/l speed.

    Hope this helps :)

Thanks i used the settings you showed, its started to pick up a little, but its still slow I'm downloading a file thats only 3.5mb,normally I'd download that in 5secs on vista.I normally use BitComet but its saying the port is blocked?tryed changed the port but doesnt matter what i try it keeps saying blocked currently getting 10kB/s on uTorrent, normally get between 150-250kB/s on BitComet, its the only thing annoying me about windows 7,apart from that works like a dream, great OS big improvement over vista:) Thanks

Have you disabled IP-6 support? we could also use some specs on system and network.

    TIA

All is working to the max here on 7600, there may be an entry on your firewall setting that's not allowing the connection. Might be worth looking into

    Go to..

Control Panel -> Network & Internet -> Network and Sharing center

Then click 'Change adapter settings' on the left hand pane. Right-click your main network connection then 'Properties'

You can then select/de-select whatever option you need in the main panel.
