In desperate need of a working audio output recorder

    Hi,

I have been looking for this for months; but I never found ONE that worked (okay, SoundTap streaming audio recorder did, but I only got BSOD crashes with the driver).

To be clear: I Don't Have the Audio Output in my Recording Devices settings.

Can someone provide me a working audio output recorder that comes with a driver which does not causes BSOD's?

    Thx in advance!

In other words you cannot hear the audio when you record?

The options for this is in my sound driver software's control panel. It's odd that you don't have one built in. What sound card or chip do you use? Perhaps we can help you find a compatible control panel for your sound card.

Is it possible you do have one built in but don't have "listen to this device played back through" enabled? On my system, I have different options for the playback device and I have to enable it manually, it's off by default. Yours may be worded differently.

I see you have a Conexant High-Definition. Some people who use Vista are having issues with recording.

I know you may have done this already but I have to ask.. have you tried updating the factory installed driver?

What numbers come after the CQ70 in your model number?

    Hello Martin,

You might take a look at this to see if it may be able to help.

"What U Hear" Recording - Enable

    Hope this helps,

    Hi
    Thx for your answers.

Electricrider: I just updated my system specs. My Presario is a elgCQ720-220EB, bought in Belgium where I live.
I also just updated the sound driver. I will now reboot and see what it brings.

Brink: I tried the tutorial before but it just doesn't show me the option of "record what you hear" or "wave out" or "audio out".

No, what I meant was having my microphone in set to all the audio going out, so I could record Radio and stuff like that.

But even with the latest drivers, I don't see that option in my Input tab in my Sound Settings.

Not all sound cards provide "what you hear" recording functionality on Windows 7, regardless of drivers or settings.

Your Conextant sound card may be in this category.

In which case, your alternative is to buy a sound card KNOWN to provide "what you hear" recording functionality.

Yes, but as I said, the SoundTap program from NCH Software worked fine, except for the BSOD coming with the driver! So there must be a possibility but without my computer crashing...

Yeah but in Audacity you cannot select "wave out".

    Temporarily Stop Driver running

    Hi,

In order to this, I did install SoundTap Audio Output recorder, but I got BSOD crashes because of the driver.

Is there a way to temporarily turn off the driver, so I gett the less risk as possible for Blue Screens?

    Thx in advance!
