Good program to replace Windows 7's "Volume Mixer"?

I was wondering if there are any programs that would be good for replacing Windows 7's default Volume Mixer. Preferably one that doesn't alter "system" files. You see, I use macros on my mouse and media keys on my keyboard to change the volume, for the brief few days I had Windows 10 I noticed that when I change the volume via the macros on my mouse or the media keys on my keyboard a slider actually comes up that shows my volume that will slowly fade away on its own, that, or similar to that, is what I'm looking for.

Actually the Volume icon will change from 3 sound waves to none as you decrease it, but of course not as detailed as you wish.

I use a lot of autoit scripts compiled to .exe in connection to sound control The mixer I use is Windows volume control replacement - Power Mixer

You can assign Hot Keys to just about any function. Not free but not expensive either.

Alright, after using this program for a little while I eventually found out that it was a little bit... Conflictive with my display driver... I think at least? Whenever a program would use high CPU with it running, the mouse would skip all over the screen, but without it running it didn't. I was ready to reformat Windows until I tried it without that open... I'm using Volume^2, in my opinion it's better as well, more customization and overall options. Only using 1660K of memory right now and no CPU.
