Looks like it works. I checked with Symantec, they say they don't support Beta OSes but if you were going to try to do it, this is how you should, not that they're saying nuthin'...
You have to use version 11.0.4. Run (as admin) LUSETUP.EXE to install liveupdate, reboot, and then run SETUP.EXE.
Works for me. (W7 build 7000)
Don't party yet, SEP people; I'm getting Stop 8E in symevent now.
I could have told you about the Stop 8E - I tried SEP 11 back in 6801 - I could never get it to install, so I manually ran the installer separately myself - and poof - same crap.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see your post til now....
I really need them to fix this soon, cause I have to run SEP for VPN access and yet I don't want to run Vista anymore and hate XP....

it seemed to be working in build 7000, x64 (provided you did an unmanaged install) -- but since I have installed 7057, the installation is blocked due to compatibility issues by M$ -- and not of the type you can say, okay, i get it, i dont care, install anyway -- it simply won't allow it to be installed. here's hoping i can stop using kaspersky.

I joined SevenForums.com specifically to say "Thank you!" for posting this. I Googled and found your post. Being able to use SEP was important for me b/c I get it free from work and frankly, I think it's the best AV program out there...I have no issues w/it and it works great for me.
I'm running Build 7100 (64-bit) and it's working perfectly; with a couple of side notes:
1. There is no Network Threat Protection; that is no longer on the screen. However; AntiVirus/Antispyware and Proactive Threat Protection are there and have the latest (today's!) updates.
2. The right-click a file/icon-->"Scan For Viruses" option seems to be gone. That's unfortunate; maybe there's an option in W7 somewhere to "define right-click behavior?"
How I Did It
I installed Live Update (LUSETUP.EXE) and rebooted. I then did an Unmanaged Client install. Only thing to note is that when you go to update the virus defs/AV software it takes a really long time.
First update it downloaded about 50MB worth of updates; went thru the usual "Downloading AV Software", "Downloading AV Defs", "Downloading Proactive Protection Defs" etc. Then it just sat there for a good 30 minutes at least. Have patience! It is not frozen! Even though CPU activity was almost nil, it was "thinking" during that time. Eventually, you'll get a "You must reboot" popup.
Upon reboot I got the "Your AV defs are out of date" popup. AV was current but Proactive wasn't. I run LU update again and it went through the same 30-40 minute-long update...and then it was good.It didn't ask for it but I rebooted anyway....always a good idea when updating an program.
I really hope that SEP works with the final build! I hope to make the upgrade to W7_64 when it comes out. I skipped Vista and am ready to move forward from XP. See you all around the forums.

How do you get past the random Stop 0X8E BSODs?
Remove Symantec, problem goes away.
I'm using MS Forefront x64 now, and it just works.....
@Proteus: Are you overclocked? Sometimes an overclocked, stable system will become unstable when changing OSes. When I went from XP to Ubuntu on one of my boxes, this happened to me.
When installing SEP I didn't get any BSODs/STOP errors. When I first tried to install it (normally, not using rickmccl's advice) I just got a "Symantec Installer Could Not Continue, Your System Has Not Been Modified" popup. <--that's what made me Google for a fix. I got no BSODs or other errors though.
After installing SEP last night, I used the system for surfing, MP3s and video for about 5 hours. NO errors, BSODs, reboots or anything else. Smooth as silk. :)

I've tried to use SEP 11.0.4202 MR4 MP2 and also just MR4....
Nothing seems to work as far as being able to network deploy it with SEPM. I've tried the registry hack, and the process stated above with no luck. Also, I've tried installing it as a non-managed program with no luck at all. The MSI seems to roll back after beginning to install and the setup.exe just times out. I've scripted some batch files to copy the SyLink.xml file from the SEPM server to the client in hopes to create a managed client, but no luck there either.
Anyone else have any luck??
Relentlessfight: I've read that trying a network install of SEP 11 with W7 is pointless. It just won't work for some reason. AFA a local install goes; install Live Update first and reboot. Then perform a normal, unmanaged client install. It worked great for me.
I had it working in a similar way at one point in my testing. I installed it using that method and a slight modification to the HKLM/CCS001/Services/SysMain/Start D_WORD registry key. I had it installed unmanaged and then copied the SyLink.xml file from the deployment package and was able to get the managed version working. It then would crash and disable itself and upon reverting to unmanaged, It wouldn't even install anymore.
