Your link didn't work for me, so I'm not sure what it was supposed to show, but I can tell you that some videos (like, for example, full length movies) do take an hour or sometimes longer to download, so that's not unusual.

But if you think the problem is the media player, although both Media Player and RealPlayer are fine, why not try VLC? It works very well and seems to be very popular. (VideoLAN - VLC: Free streaming and multimedia solutions for all OS!)

"The media type of this file is not recognised" ( It contains unexpected data and may be corrupt ) That is what the screenshot shows.

What is the file extension? What does it contain? Media info can show it to you. Download from MediaInfo and then let us know.

That's .mkv (matroska file). It's strange that other player can't play it. I'm opening it with Gom Player. Also Media Player Classic should open it.

I guess that the file is big. So it will take lot of time. Gom is opening .mkv without any problem. I'm watching .mkv files.

Conversion with Format Factory is relatively fast - at least on a higher end CPU - especially quad cores.
