    .Tar Files

Help me with a "brain outage" I am having. Several months ago I downloaded a file with many wallpapers that ended in .tar and opened it and everything was fine. I d/l another this morning and it is asking me for the file association to open it. I know how to associate a file, but can not find one for a tar file. What files can open tar files? Thanks,

.tar file extension is archive file, and it's used in UNIX systems. 7Zip can help you. And WinZip also I think.

I too use 7-zip for most everything. If you really need to open Linux type archives you can get Windows versions of Linux tools here for free:

    GnuWin32 Packages
