Processes starting, but not showing windows

An annoying problem (and one that I had in several different Vista installs, as well) has cropped in Windows 7 for me.

I start programs (Dreamweaver, Itunes, VLC media player, etc.) and I get nothing. The task manager shows running processes, but I get nothing on the screen.

    Anyone?

Welcome to the the forum ffenliv,

Not sure Dreamweaver is functional in 7. I have been using VLC since January without any problems (haven't updated), and iTunes is my main MP3 player (iTunes 64). I have had problems loading iTunes whenever I moved up to different version of 7. I got around this by allowing it to load up, then doing a restart and reloading. It worked after the second installation. Just some ideas.

I've been using dreamweaver, itunes and VLC without problem since I first put 7 on here.

I haven't installed any new software, drivers or made any system changes (that I know of, anyway) from the time this problem started.

I can't do normal restarts, as 7 hangs on the logoff portion.

Could you try rebooting with enable logging ( not safe, nor normal) there is a setting that says reboot normally (no), reboot with networking (no) reboot with logging enabled (yes) not safe mode.

Then reboot safe and check the log (upload it to us)

    Dreamweaver CS4

I've had no problems running Dreamweaver CS4 on Windows 7 RC1 provided I have text and icons set at 100% size. If I set them to 125% which makes them much more readable on my screen then Dreamweaver fails to display all the icons in the toolbars. The HTML properties and CSS properties toolbars are badly affected by this.
