    Follow Up to Apensa

I completely understand your frustration - I too spent endless hours installing and uninstalling to the point that nothing worked. However, now my HP6210 is working just fine.

I recommend that you completely uninstall your HP Printer and then reinstall through Windows 7 (automatic setup using your USB connection). This should get you back to where your printer works in everything but Quicken.

Then follow the directions for installing the 990C printer (if you do not see this listed as an option click on Windows Update just under the list of printers and it will come up).

Follow the steps outlined by Jgraycpa1 and others in this thread. You should have no problem using your printer in Quicken and every other program.

This finally worked for me last week and everything is running smoothly now.

Barney, that 990C was one of the ones that I tried. Don't know whay it did not work for me. I have to tell you I was very impressed by Quicken's customer service as far as this situation went. They ended up giving me a free call back and we were able to work it through via one on one conversation. I'm up and running now with full feature and able to print checks and reports as well as other print jobs.

Windows 7 x64 and Quicken printing

Following someone else's suggestion, I loaded an HP 990C driver and am now able to print all Quicken 2008 Checks, Reports and Invoices using an HP D7560 Photosmart printer. With the regular driver I was not able to print to the HP from Quicken. GIve it a try!

I'm using Quicken 2001, Windows 7 64 bit machine, and an HP D4260 printer. I cannot print reports. I tried the hp 990c fix, but my 4260 printer will not print. All its lights are flashing. Both the virtual 990c and the 4260 are installed on the USB port. Is this correct? I tried making each the default printer.

Is it necessary for me to reinstall Quicken as the administrator? Will this make a difference?

    Thanks,

I like your handle.....describes me to a tee. I take it the Windows 7 OS is the new item in your system. Well, good luck. I went back an forth between HP and Quicken for over a month to no avail. Finally had to get Quicken 2010 to get it to print checks and reports. If you haven't already, do a Google search with the key words "Quicken" and "Windows 7" and you will have a lot of reading to do. You are not alone on this one.

aspensa- Thanks! It seems like I'm continually scratching my head, trying to figure out these !@#$%^& computers.

Check out my latest round with Quicken and printer drivers at:

    Windows SIG Forums

I have another experiment in the works. I'll post with my observations, soon.

I haven't heard too many positive things about Quicken 2010.

    Headscratcher.

    Quicken 2010, Windows 7 x64, HP D7560

Although I had already solved my problem with Quicken 2007 and Windows 7 x64 by loading the HP 990C driver, I decided to purchase Quicken 2010 and see what happened. Much to my surprise, everything is working perfectly! Printing checks, reports and PDF invoices [I have the Home and Business version]. Quicken 2010 seems to have been a cure-all for my system. I did run the 2010 install setup using the 'Run as Administrator' method, if this helps anyone. I no longer need the 990C driver and I run only the HP D7560 64bit driver for all functions.

Quicken is still my choice for financial support for my personal and business needs, at least for now. :)
