    .Net Framework 4 verification issue


    Problem:

    I constantly get the error
    C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.31310\mscoreei.dll could not be loaded"

    And whenever i try to install Dead Island
    Please set Registry Key
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\.NETframework\InstallRoot to point to the .net framework installation

    Attempted Resolutions:

    Ive uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times, first client, then the full package.

    I ran the .net setup verifier and the last 4 lines of the log are

    [10/06/11,23:52:02] Launching process 'Netfx40TestApplication.exe' now
    [10/06/11,23:52:02] Process successfully launched. Waiting 300 seconds for it to complete.
    [10/06/11,23:52:06] ****ERROR**** Process 'Netfx40TestApplication.exe' exited with return code -2146232575
    [10/06/11,23:52:06] ****ERROR**** Verification failed for product .NET Framework 4 Full

    Im very computer savy but this ones got me stumped
    help much appreciated

    Welcome to Seven Forums blackbelt27. There are many threads on the web of people with similar problems. Most don't have solutions, but here are some steps recommended:

    .NET Framework 4 installs, but verification fails and .NET4 Applications will not run.

    One thing that is reported to work is a reformat A Repair Install may do it for you. Suggest (always) making a complete system image before attempting anything.

    there is no solution yet to this problem? Now i can't run my turbo tax software b/c of some crap .net framework problem

    You might try the .NET Framework Cleanup Tool.

    But as above, I'll always suggest making a complete system image before trying. Either with Windows:

    Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup

    Or a good 3rd party software.

    cleanup tool, verification, registry patches done it all with no success. I know what i have to do but i just refuse to reinstall everything. Thanks though

    What are the windows services that are required for the .net 4.0 framework install?

    Please list all that are specifically needed for the install.

Hello, I have a problem with .net framework 4 for Window 7 x64 Ultimate. After installing it, certain application such as Aion still gives me the error "this application require .net framework v4.030319" even though its already installed. Is there a fix for this problem? Thanks in advance...
When I go to Control Panel - Programs - Turn Windows features on or off, Net Framework 3.5.1 does not have a checkmark. Upon expanding it, I find that "Windows Communication Foundation HTTP Activation" "Windows Communication Foundation HTTP non-Activation" are by default unchecked for me....
