Windows 7 Ultimate X32

I will give that a try if the problem persists, but for right now, I read another thread on another forum about similar problems and stopped a program which was a screen capture program running in the background (PicPick) and ran several installs without a hitch????

Newly downloaded programs don't appear on desktop.
So for example, I download the file ''File.rar'', download completes, but its not on the desktop. To make it appear, I have to refresh (Right click > Refresh). Does anyone know how to make it so that they just appear on my desktop without having to refresh?
