    ZoneAlarm Problem

Ok, following up from the network thread i made, i had uninstalled AVG Internet Security because it caused websites to hang, so now i installed ZoneAlarm AntiVirus w/ Firewall 9.0 Beta 2 and the connection seems to be working all fine, but theres a problem with the Action Centre

Is this normal for Action Centre to report Firewall & AntiVirus off (See screenshot)

Probably an old version of zonealarm. where did you get it? what version? did you update the virus defs from ZA?
edit: never mind abt version number 9.o beta 2. you might not want to use the beta version

Lets try this again. First get a non beta version for vista/win 7. then update the virus definitions. that should help sure the action center message. there is also another option, eset smart security. widely used easy, small footprint, etc.

    Hope this helps

Only the 9.0 beta versions are compatible with windows 7, all other versions are blocked due to "compatibility issues"

Ok, i don't mind using this internet security, i was just using the products i saw on the Windows 7 Security page on Microsoft site.

is there a specific version which works with Windows 7 or any version?

Eset Smart Security version 4.x is widely used here and you can search for it to see how people like it. Its so good I dont even think abt it anymore.

Eset is here Firewall, Antivirus, Antispam: ESET Smart Security Has It All and it does a better job than zone alarm (which I used to use).

But it isn't free like ZoneAlarm

I have a valid subscription for Norton 360 which worked great during the Beta period (which is now closed), but they wont release the update for Windows 7 until after Augusut 6th so it could be released tomorrow, or in 1 month.
