What is .NET 2.0/3.5/4.0 and do I need it?

I downloaded a software for creating bingo cards from Bingo Cards
and the website says that I need .NET 2.0.
I checked online and noticed that there are many versions.
I also read that Windows 7 comes with .NET 3.5.

Do I need to install .NET 2.0? 4.0?
Please advise

NORMALLY programs that need a particular version of .NET will install it along with the program and you really shouldn't have to think about it.

If the Bingo Cards software does not do that for you, AND it gives you an error about .NET when you run it, then go to microsofts site and search for the .NET 2.0 runtime installer. If it wants 2.0 you need to install 2.0.

Other programs may need 3.5 or 4 and they can all live side by side on your machine. But again, 99% of the time, the program you are installing should also install the .NET runtime for you... So you usualy do not need to install them all just because.

This should work for you...
