    want to decide location of program to be installed, how?


    Windows 7 64bit hp.

    Info: Some exe files ask during installation, in which folder the program
    should be installed, some don't.

    Q: If not asked during installation, how can I decide in which folder
    the program must be installed anyway?

    If installer is InstallShield based you can use the following command line options:
    Code:
    Setup.exe /v"INSTALLDIR=\"c:\My Files\""
    Same thing is valid for MSI files.

    Most of the program which do not ask for a setup folder, either would not work in another folder(due to specific reasons) and/or are made by amateurs (thus might be of a low quality).

Hey guys, In my system-tray, there are several 'programs' or 'services' or 'drivers' or whatever running, including Skype and Bluetooth Devices. I would like to know where these programs/services are located. Obviously for Skype, I know the location. But I know it because I installed it. Now...
I have a program that wanted to install in a document folder :mad: I have installed it in Program Files, but it requires elevation or it produces errors when running. I know I can tick the Run As ... box in the shortcut, but is there a better way, such as taking ownership of the install folder?

I've been researching for quite a while now all AV programs on the internet. I have AVG 9.0 installed, but sometimes I think it's missing something. I'm not completely sure, but that's just the way I think. I am very secure when it deals with computers. So far, I think these are opening my mind...
