Pinning vertically
You can pin programs to the Win7 task bar, but I want to have a pop-up that I can pin a few programs within the vertical alignment of a pinned program. If you pin a program beside the start button and you want to pin another program it would go to the right of the task bar. I want to pin it vertically so I click on a part of the task bar and I have a list of custom programs vertically.

You can create custom jumplist (menu, which pops up on right click on pinned item) and put your custom programs in such jumplist.

it is possible to have a vertical taskbar
Right-click an empty space on the taskbar. If Lock the taskbar has a check mark next to it, the taskbar is locked. You can unlock it by clicking Lock the taskbar, which removes the check mark. · Click an empty space on the taskbar, and then hold down the mouse button as you drag the taskbar to one of the four edges of the desktop. When the taskbar is where you want it, release the mouse button. Note To lock the taskbar into place, right-click an empty space on the taskbar, and then click Lock the taskbar so that the check mark appears. Locking the taskbar helps prevent it being moved or resized accidentally. Unlock and move the taskbar (the video wont play for me???) Narrow/thin vertical taskbar in Windows 7 - Neowin Forums |

Is it safe to use hard drives vertically? I'm looking at some external hard drive docking stations. Most of them mount the drives vertically. I also see a lot of external enclosures, and some are horizontal, and some are vertical. Is it safe to run hard drives vertically? Are vertically stacked taskbar buttons possible? Sometimes I have a lot of stuff open, so here's how I have my taskbar in Windows 7. As you can see, the application buttons are laid out horizontally. I'd like to be able to arrange them so they're stacked vertically instead as I think I'd be able to get better grouping. Are there any... |

Tile vertically Hi, I do like Win7 so far (compared to XP), but one of the things I'm missing is the "Tile vertically" function (you know, where you can select a few programs in the taskbar and make them automatically fit on the screen together). Is it really no there or am I just overlooking it? Thanks in... |
