    No serial port found when using hyperterminal software


    Hi, I am using a hyperterminal software called Coolterm. I have used it in the past with success, however now when I run it I get an error "No serial ports found, Your system currently does not have any serial ports. Unless at least one serial port is added, this application will no tbe usable" . I am unsure what this means and how to fix it. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

    Does your computer have one of these ports: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_port
    Almost all new computers today lack the old serial and parallel ports

    No, it has 3 usb ports, which I am using to communicate with the software. I used to be able to use the software to scan and find the com ports, but now there is nothing.
