I get that error since installing Symantec Endpoint on my system. It usually pops up when the program is updating.

All norton 2009 products are not fully compatible with Win7 yet.

The heuristic driver (SONAR) shuts itself down.

Symantec has promised to have this fixed before Win7 hits the stores.

In the mean time they have beta versions of 2009 and 2010 that do work.
You can find them hidden somewhere on the Symantec site.

Down side is that you have to reactivate them every 14 days.

Endpoint installs correctly, however when it was done installing and upon restarts this message comes up. I am using 32 bit Ultimate RC build 7100 and this message has never popped up.

    Symantec issue

    Go to Symantec's website
    https://www-secure.symantec.com/conn...-sep-120122192

or search for "Confidence Online Utility Driver", big issues, no fixes.
I have Endpoint 12.0.122.192 and it still doesn't work on Windows 7 clients.

I'm not sure what to do now after I bought their software.

I'll give this a try for EP 12

Just got off the phone with Symantec's customer support. They are saying:
Ru1 version of SEP SBE 12 is what you will need to have full support and compatibility for Windows 7

What I meant by my post, was that you would have been better served to open a new thread. Since its a new version of SBE running on the RTM version of the OS, not the beta that is mentioned in this thread.
