Linux CENTOS 7 / various Windows OS'es and servers

Hi there
Music Wiki IMO is a total waste of time on W7 -- It works (allegedly) at comparing the Music lyrics with what's in its database. No good for things like Classical Music -- it's got no chance whatsoever of determining Artist(s), Orchestra, Conductor - especially as often with things like Opera many many different people can sing the same pieces.

It's incredibly basic -- highly NOT recommended.

I still use Winamp -- it will also as a previous poster stated display track info on albums without having to rip them first -- but I have now my entire CD collection (probably over 1000 over the years) ripped to HDD in FLAC so I was very happy Winamp labelled all the tracks etc. I almost NEVER play a "physical Album".
I've got all this musicl on a 500 GB HDD and backed up to another HDD. (I'm not going through the whole process again of ripping 1000 CD's !!).

FLAC is nice LOSSLESSLY compressed music so it plays at the original CD quality. Winamp plays FLAC (so does VLC by the way) and my portable music player |a SANSA ZIP device also plays FLAC.

For High quality listening at home as well I use the Squeezebox server system -- it tramsmits (Wirelessly) to an OPTICAL input on my High quality Amp and the device also lists details about the song being played and album art if it can find it.

Also when streaming Internet radio it also lists details of music being played. This might be what you are looking for.

Great system
