    Unable to install iTunes 10.5.2.11

Whenever I try to install iTunes 10.5.2, I get the following messages....

I've tried looking in Apple's Support pages but it seems that I have a problem with the Apple Software Update software and I couldn't find a forum that targeted that. Any thoughts?

Yes, I even have an Administrator Account on my computer that I tried to install iTunes in and that did not work either.

You are the admin, that does not mean that you have all the permissions to do everything in the admin account. That is vested to TrustedInstaller, not to Administrator. To run a program as admin means you right click on the program, get the right click context menu , locate the option "run as Administrator" there, aand click on it.

If this trick also fails, you should try to download iTunes once again. If any part of the download is corrupt, these messages occur.

I have tried that as previously stated. I ALSO tried on the Administrator account. Neither method worked.

I GOT IT TO WORK! A guy on Microsoft forums sent me a link to Microsoft FixIt and it helped me uninstall Apple Software Update. Once that was uninstalled, iTunes installed just fine.

Here is the link if anyone is having the same problem...

    update to this thread

Hey I just wanted to chime in to say this fix was indeed very successful! I was about to give up, since I'm running windows on a Mac Powerbook pro, I figured I was just destined to switch to the mac side when I wanted to use iTunes. So I'm thrilled that this fix worked. Thanks to you all for paving the way to a solution.
