    there is a hide option for Nexus - mine is set to show when I bump the edge it is on

    it's a great free dock program

    Thanks to kado897 for helping me solve this. I ultimately ended up downloading ObjectDock and using the "Prevent Docks from hiding when Win+D is pressed" check box in the Advanced Tweaks menu. Thanks you to everyone for their replies and helpful suggestions, you've all been a great help!
