Wipe meta data

I'm looking for something that can wipe meta-data from pictures and documents. I have seen many, many tutorials on the internet about it and have found many products with a simple Google Search but my Norton always ends up telling me its a virus then removes it from my system. So what are some good free options?

It isn't free and not sure how much it costs but ExifCleaner will clear images.
