associations work fine here with same version you have, may be you have some security enabled that prevents it from being changed

Try running it as run as administrator by right clicking on the shortcut and see if that helps.

I had this issue and I had to reinstall 7 zip as an admin...(uninstall it through the Control Panel first!)

    Hello ATeam,

You can apply OPTION THREE below on the 7-Zip shortcut to have it always "Run as administrator" when opened. This will allow your changes to stay.

    Run as Administrator

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Actually I think that if you don't run it as an admin Shawn than no assocaitions/menu integration will occur. This was true for me...I almost pulled my hair out one day trying to get 7Zip to integrate into the right-click menu...I looked into every option...ran as admin...ran in compatibility mode for Vista SP1 and XP SP2. Finally reinstalling it as an admin applied integration and associations

    Chris,

I noticed that 7-Zip will not keep changes made from the Tool - Options area unless it is opened with "Run as administrator".

That is really strange I tired all that before but no such luck...I guess my first install of 7zip was bad...it works as intended now

That is strange, but I'm glad it's working for you now.
