Will DAEMON Tools Lite v4.30.4 SPTD 1.58 run ok on 7100? I don't want to install this and run into a problem and I can't seem to find any info on this.

I ended up sending them an email and this is the reply I got back:

Hello
DAEMON Tools Pro 4.35.0306 and DAEMON Tools Lite 4.30.4 were tested on Windows 7 RC1 build 7100 and both versions work fine.
In case you will get Compatibility warning, just click Run to install and start DAEMON Tools.

So yeah they did test this and it does work fine. Also thanks for the heads up on a newer version of SPTD I will go grab that.

Yep and fill your Event log viewer with compatibility messages!
They didnt event mod the exe so that wouldnt even popup!
The rest works fine ,exept for the icon "safely remove hardware" that
appears every time you mount a disk.

can you make an exeption to event log so it wouldnt do that?

Has to be an issue with SPTD using an SCSI or some other driver
witch is safely removable.Standard overlooking...
Anyone about the Event log issue?

Look at your Devices & Printer folder...
"LSFIZI VS9YZGHQ3GP SCSI CdRom Device"
It's Recognized as external device I think

Yep, thats the problem!
The driver is set to be an external component to be safely removed
and not an internal component.
Standard dev overlook...

Im in love with virtual clone drive now anyway and wouldn't change even if daemon tools work, great little program.Installed in on an xp system aswell. Is there any difference in what it can mount? because i have tried thousands of things and no problem.Plus right clicking and mounting is a good feature that daemons doesn't have. :D

So what can it mount that virtual clone drive can't? as i still have not came across anything...

Having the safely remove devices pop up is not really a big deal. Mine is always up because I have an external hard drive plugged in. I set the icon to be hidden to avoid clutter.

I also think you can set a software restriction policy to negate that popup when it is triggered. Not 100% sure but I would try that personally.

does virtual clone drive support MDF/MDS and NRG (Nero) format too?

btw, the things that get me stick with DT is that it allow me to double-click a image file to mount it.. (i just dont like the right-click way..)

however, i discover that DT Lite v4.30.4 (SPTD 1.58) cause my Windows 7 boot animation lag for awhile (0.5 seconds)..after i do some research, i found that its the DT/SPTD causing it..others are claiming that it slow down their system boot up too..

just hope the latest SPTD 1.60 will solve the problem..will test it out soon..
