Download and upload speed depends on your Internet plan and Internet service provider. In my personal experience download manager applications never increase download or upload speeds.Rest is marketing hype. The only real advantage of these applications are that you can start/stop and manage your downloads efficiently.

Thanks for respond my post! Yes if i use any download manager my real internet connection not increase. I know that, but i think most of the download manager use multiple http connections and they download separate part of the file. So i think they increase download speed than normal web browser download manager.

You are contradicting your own post. When download manager doesn't increase your internet speed then how can it increase download speed since download/upload speed depends on your internet connection and whichever plan you subscribed to with your ISP.

Even if it increases download speed and thats a big IF the increase would be so marginal that you wouldn't even notice. If you really want faster download/upload speeds i would suggest you change your internet plan.

I found this in regards to the program Flashget

       Note
Write data to disk every ____ KB
Setting buffer size helps users of fast links. The buffer holds newly downloaded portions of the file, before it is written to disk. Downloading big files over fast data links can cause continuous disk activity - sometimes more than the disk can manage, causing data loss. If the disk light is on continuously then reduce the work the disk must do: increase the buffer size, reduce the number of download streams (fast links do not need more then 3), reduce the number of files being downloaded at the same time, use the speed limit to reduce the data speed or defrag your disk.

A rule of thumb - make the buffer twice your maximum link speed i.e. if link speed is 250KB/s, make buffer 500Kbytes so the buffer will fill every 2 seconds.Check that the disk now operates every 2 seconds, not continuously. The default buffer size is 100Kbytes, suitable for modem users.
