Hello nithig,
Yes, they are completely different. :)
MSE is a antivirus program instead.
Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows
Hello Brink,
oh ok ... thanks ... never sure about these things.
So now I'll look up Live Essentials and see what they are for.
cheers
Windows Live Essentials are for the free "Windows Live" programs that are listed on the first page of this thread. :)
thanks Brink. Yes, I checked them out & now understand what they are. I'm affraid it's an old
prejudice here about Messenger which I deleted from my computer years ago. Now I have win 7
I haven't used any of the 'Live' features though I've no doubt they are no more instrusive than
google or many other spy sites these days.
I had been using Windows Live Messenger 2009 (v14.x) but was forced to upgrade to the 2011 version.
The only issue I have is the color of the blinking text cursor in the edit box which is gray and does not show up too well on a black background. Is it possible to fiz this? I am guessing the same cursor is used in other app;lications and in those, is displayed as white. Thanks.
Thanks Shawn. I updated Mail, Photo Gallery and Movie maker on Windows 8 RP and all is great. Need to reboot into Windows 7 (dual boot) and update over there.
