    Hello DG,

Sorry, but the wlsetup-web.exe file is the only available option to install them with that doesn't violate the EULA.

Here is the link to the offline installer.

    http://wl.dlservice.microsoft.com/do...lsetup-all.exe

If you notice, the web download link at the end of it, ends with 'wlsetup-web.exe'. All you do is change the 'web' to 'all'. :)

Just wondering, how does an offline installer violate EULA?

I wasn't aware that there was one made available at MS for this 2011 version. In all previous versions they had wanted you to use the web installer instead of the MSI installers pulled out after that version was installed. The distribution of the MSI installers were what violated the EULA since that's not how the program was suppose to be installed.

Very nice that there is one now. :)

I did a search, it brought me here. My updates are asking to install the live essentials. I don't know what windows live is, don't know if I should learn it, want it, use it.. let alone update it. Is there a thread I missed for a clueless newbie? :)

I am sorry, I should be more patient. I just read up on it and I don't use it, don't plan to use it and wonder.. is it something windows is going to get pissy about if I uninstall? or should I just leave it and be bothered by update notices until maybe someday when I find a reason to use it? What do the rest of you do if your system has it but you never do/will use it?

    Hello Lary,

Windows Live Essentials is a set of free programs from Microsoft that are optional to install. You will have an option to select which ones you want to install. The link below can give you more details, and also the first page in this thread.

You can also uninstall Windows Live Essentials from within Programs and Features in the Control Panel to select which ones you want to uninstall.

    Hope this helps,
